This innovation has turned the tide on a startling reality: of the 14 million tons of cacaofruit harvested globally each year, 70%—a staggering 10 million tons—used to be wasted. The upcycled cacaofruit as rightful winner
Preventing food waste is one of the most impactful ways to combat global warming, and we are leading the way with our innovative upcycling of the cacaofruit. Traditionally, only the seeds of the cacaofruit were used to make chocolate, while the rest of the fruit was discarded.
Now, thanks to Cabosse Naturals, the fresh pulp of the fruit is fully utilized to create sustainable, flavorful ingredients.
Grown in tropical regions near the Equator, ripe cacaofruits are hand-picked, cleaned, and opened to separate the seeds from the white pulp. While the seeds continue to be used for chocolate, the cacaofruit pulp is pressed into juice, which is then filtered, pasteurized, and gently concentrated to preserve its vibrant, natural flavors.
