We are thrilled to announce our win of the Sustainable Ingredient Award at the prestigious Sustainable Food Awards, hosted by Ecovia Intelligence. These awards shine a spotlight on trailblazers driving a greener, low-waste food industry, and Cabosse Naturals' work with our incredible cacaofruit proved to be a perfect match for this recognition. 

Through a visionary, low-waste supply chain, we aim to unlock the full potential of the cacaofruit—transforming what was once discarded into delicious, sustainable ingredients. While its seeds (better known as beans) still delight the world as chocolate, the often-overlooked peel and fresh, juicy pulp are now lovingly crafted into ingredients that speak to the values of today’s millennial and centennial generations. 

This innovation has turned the tide on a startling reality: of the 14 million tons of cacaofruit harvested globally each year, 70%—a staggering 10 million tons—used to be wasted. Cabosse Naturals is changing this narrative, showing the world that sustainability and creativity go hand in hand, setting a new benchmark for the future of food.

The upcycled cacaofruit as rightful winner

Preventing food waste is one of the most impactful ways to combat global warming, and we are leading the way with our innovative upcycling of the cacaofruit. Traditionally, only the seeds of the cacaofruit were used to make chocolate, while the rest of the fruit was discarded. 

Now, thanks to Cabosse Naturals, the fresh pulp of the fruit is fully utilized to create sustainable, flavorful ingredients.

 Grown in tropical regions near the Equator, ripe cacaofruits are hand-picked, cleaned, and opened to separate the seeds from the white pulp. While the seeds continue to be used for chocolate, the cacaofruit pulp is pressed into juice, which is then filtered, pasteurized, and gently concentrated to preserve its vibrant, natural flavors. 

Through this innovative process, Cabosse Naturals transforms what was once waste into a delicious and sustainable ingredient, setting a new standard for eco-conscious food production.
