What is organic (chocolate)?
Organic production is an overall system of farm management and food production that combines:
- A high level of biodiversity
- The preservation of natural resources
- All natural substances and processes
- High-quality ingredients
- A focus on environmental and animal protection.
Creations can be labeled organic if at least 95% of their ingredients have been organically farmed. And what is even better? Products that arise from the pure goodness of nature are tasty as well.
Organic = Natural, Simple and Responsible
Natural
Organic ingredients are organically farmed and are free from chemical fertilizers and pesticides. The use GMO’s (genetically modified organisms) or products coming from GMOs are normally forbidden by organic legislation. Therefore there is better soil health and the plants get the time to grow and take all the richness from the soil, giving rise to the most authentic taste profiles.
Simple
Organic products are expected to have a clean and short ingredient list with full traceability from farm to the end product.
Responsible
All aspects of the organically certified product should reflect great respect for consumers’ health, animal welfare, the environment, and even producing companies and employees. All of the above create a responsible and sustainable product.
